Unfortunately, due to budget and staffing restrictions, Cutting Costs for Celiacs can no longer provide baskets or stipends. Please refer to the University of Chicago's Celiac Center for an educational basket. We are sorry that we cannot be a part of your celiac journey. See below for the programs we used to offer.
1. Stipend Program

As gluten-free diets can be more expensive than regular diets, many low-income families may not be able to afford even basic groceries.

Due to the high prices of gluten-free foods, Cutting Costs for Celiacs provides children (and their families) a reliable monthly stipend to help off-set the cost of eating gluten-free. Families can use this stipend at local participating grocery stores to purchase certified gluten-free food.

If you or someone you know may be interested in this program, please contact Cutting Costs for Celiacs for further information or see our "stipend application" tab under the "apply" page.

2. Gift Basket Program

Transitioning to a gluten-free diet is not only expensive, but it can also be confusing and overwhleming to the newly dianosed.

We have made it our goal to help newly diagnosed children and their families find the gluten-free products they need.

All newly diagnosed children in Wisconsin (within 12 months of diagnosis) are encouraged to apply for our gluten-free gift baskets. The baskets contain samples of gluten-free foods, a list of local gluten-free restaurants, gift cards or coupons from local restaurants or grocery stores that sell gluten free products, and gluten-free recipes (contents will vary based on vendor donations). Newly diagnosed children do not have to be low-income to receive these gift baskets. Please see the "Gift Basket Application" tab under the "Apply" page to learn more and apply.

Those who received a basket from the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin after their diagnosis are not eligible for a second basket. Families with more than one recently diagnosed child (within the last 12 months) are eligible for a larger basket/additional basket–please make a note of this on the application.
